Market CEO, Baptist Health System

As Market CEO for Baptist hospitals, affiliated organizations and Nacogdoches Medical Center, Bill Waechter brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

With a long and successful tenure at Baptist Health System, Bill has served in multiple leadership roles, including President of North Central Baptist Hospital, where he has overseen Baptist Children’s Hospital and Baptist Orthopedic Hospital. His strategic vision and dedication to excellence have played a key role in advancing healthcare services across the system.

Before joining Baptist, Bill was a flight paramedic and held leadership positions with San Antonio AirLIFE, an air medical transport service. His background in both emergency care and hospital administration reflects his passion for improving patient outcomes and strengthening healthcare access.

Bill remains committed to Baptist Health System’s mission of making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, families and the broader community—A Community Built on Care.

Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in speech and communication from Texas A&M University and obtained his paramedic license from the Texas A&M School of Medicine. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Ashford University. A graduate of Leadership San Antonio Class 32, he has served on the boards of multiple trauma and health-related associations and councils.
